The Type of Spark Plugs for a 2004 Camry

In 2004, Toyota introduced a new, more powerful, 3.3-liter V-6 engine as an option for the Camry SE. Also included in the lineup was a base 2.4-liter four-cylinder and an improved 3.0-liter V-6. All three engines required the same type of spark plug with tips coated in one of the rarest elements on Earth.

Recommended Spark Plugs

  • Toyota recommended using Denso SK20R11, NGK IFR6A11 or equivalent, iridium-tipped spark plugs in the Camry. The required gap between the electrodes on the plugs is 0.043 inches. Do not attempt to adjust the gap on the spark plugs, as iridium-tipped plugs are not adjustable. If they are out of spec, exchange them.
