Where Is the Dip Stick Located for the Transmission Fluid in a 1999 Honda Accord?

The 1999 Accord had three engine options: a 135-horsepower, 2.3-liter four-cylinder; a 150-horsepower, 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 200-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6. Buyers could opt for a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission on four-cylinder models, but the V-6 model came with an automatic transmission only. The position of the transmission fluid dipstick depends on which engine is in the vehicle.

Transmission Dipstick Location

  • On both the V-6 and four-cylinder models of the Accord, the dipstick has a yellow-colored handle to help you find it in the engine compartment. On a 1999 Honda Accord with the base four-cylinder engine, you can find the automatic transmission fluid dipstick on the front, passenger side of the engine. With the V-6 engine, it's on the front, driver side of the engine. The manual transmission does not have a dipstick. Instead, you check the level through the filler hole on the driver side of the transmission housing.
