How to Reset a Bravada Outdoor Temperature Sensor

The Oldsmobile Bravada has an outdoor temperature sensor that alerts drivers to the current exterior temperature. The sensor also controls the temperature of air being delivered into the car. If the sensor breaks, you may find your heater blowing cold air or your air conditioner blowing warm air. Performing a quick reset is the first step in deciding whether the sensor needs to be replaced.

  • Shut off the engine of your Bravada, remove the keys from the ignition, and open the hood.

  • Locate the plug that powers the outdoor sensor. You will find it in between the front bumper and frame of the car, just to the right of the rightmost support bracket. The sensor plug is green.

  • Unplug the outdoor temperature sensor by separating the plug from its socket.

  • Plug the sensor back in, close the hood, and start the car. If the sensor's performance has not changed, it will need to be replaced.
