How to Set Mileage on Digital Speedometers

If you have recently purchased a digital speedometer and installed it in your car, the next step is to calibrate it and set the mileage. Since these digital meters are modern, they come equipped with features that allow you to calibrate them in a short amount of time. And the best part is that you don't need to know much about car electronics in order to do it.

  • Turn off your engine and locate the "Function" button on the front of the digital speedometer.

  • Press and hold the "Function" button while turning the engine on. The speedometer will now enter calibration mode.

  • Press the "Function" button repeatedly to scroll through the options until you come to "Auto."

  • Press and hold the switch until "-" is displayed. Release the switch when this appears. "Unit" will now appear on the display.

  • Wait until "Cal" appears on the display followed by zeroes, then drive your automobile until one mile clicks over on the speedometer.

  • Stop the car and then press and release the "Function" button. The mileage is now set.
