How to Change a Camry Dash Light

The dashboard in a Toyota Camry has three light bulbs installed behind the dashboard: two for the gauges and one of the console. The dashboard is mounted to the frame of the Camry and the fire wall by screws and inside the glove box and along the lower edge of the dashboard. You will need basic tools and about 20 minutes to change a dashboard light bulb. You can buy the replacement dashboard light bulbs at any auto part store.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Three replacement bulbs
  • Open the glove box and remove the two screw on the rear wall using a screwdriver. Remove the mounting screws on the passenger side of the dashboard using a screwdriver.

  • Remove the screws along the lower edge of the dashboard on the passenger side. Pull the passenger side of the dashboard away from the frame.

  • Pull each light bulb from the socket and insert the new light bulbs. Turn the Camry's power on to ensure that the new lights are working properly.

  • Push the dashboard toward the frame and replace the mounting screws to the lower edge of the dashboard. Replace the screws to the side of the dashboard and the glove box.

  • Tighten all of the mounting screws until they are snug. Close the glove box.
