A broken car door handle can present an array of inconveniences. Depending on the specific features of your car door, you just may be able to get inside, remove the handle and work on it.
Many car door handles are made of plastic. This is a good situation if you are attempting to mend it on your own rather than replace it with a new part. The other boon is that you are frequently capable of disassembling the door handle unit yourself in order to mend the handle.
When you open your car door, there should be a screw inside the jamb leading to the handle. Start by loosening that a little. If this doesn't allow you to remove the handle with relative ease -- by pushing the handle forward and then pulling it out of the panel -- then you may need to take off the whole panel. This will depend on the vehicle make and model. Also ensure that the window is not prone to damage when you do this. It may need to be fully up.
At this point, see if you can mend the handle by re-forming its shape if it is bent. If it's cracked, try using your basic glue gun to do the job. Heat the glue and apply it. Make sure that you give it ample time to set so you're sure of the piece's integrity before you put the whole thing back together.
