Each model of the Toyota Matrix is equipped with a maintenance reminder system that illuminates a service warning light on the instrument panel at regular intervals. When the regular maintenance, such as an engine oil change, is performed, the service light should be reset. Resetting the service light allows the trip computer to accurately determine when the next service interval should take place.
Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position. Do not start the engine.
Press and hold the trip odometer reset button.
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
Release the trip odometer reset button after the service light resets.
