How to Install Infiniti G35 Side Markers

The 2003 to 2007 Infiniti G35 has side marker lights attached to the front bumper cover. You can replace these side markers at home. The 2008 and newer G35 have side markers that are integrated with the car's headlight assembly. These side markers must be replaced at an Infiniti dealer, according to the G35 owner's manual. Most commonly, you'll be replacing the side marker's bulb. However, you also can replace the lens with a new one if it is cracked once you remove it from the car.

Things You'll Need

  • Flat screwdriver
  • Cloth
  • Replacement bulb T10
  • Shut off the G35's engine and bend down next to either front wheel. Look directly in front of the wheel on the rear edge of the front bumper cover to find the side marker light.

  • Wrap the tip of your flat screwdriver with a cloth. This prevents you from damaging the side marker lens or the paint on the bumper cover.

  • Insert the wrapped tip of the screwdriver underneath the rear edge of the side marker lens. Push it toward the front of the vehicle. The side marker lens will separate from the bumper cover.

  • View the back of the lens to find the side marker bulb. Detach the bulb socket and its wiring from the lens by turning it counterclockwise. Set the lens down in a safe place.

  • Grasp the bulb attached to the socket and pull it straight off. Insert the new bulb in its place. Grab the side marker lens and insert the new bub and socket into the mount on the rear. Turn it clockwise.

  • Reattach the side marker lens to the front bumper cover. Align the clip on the backside of the lens with the mount on the bumper cover. Push the lens rearward, sliding it in the opposite direction you did when you removed it, to snap it back on.
