Removing the cup holder from your Mercedes should only take you a few minutes. Since the 1980s, cup holders have become standard in all vehicles due to fast-food drive-through restaurants and the growing popularity of coffee to go. A cup holder's parts will break off at times, thus requiring removal and replacement. You only need a slotted screwdriver to complete this task.
Remove the console by removing the screws that hold it in place and then lifting it up and off the cup holder.
Locate the tab between the cups on the cup holder, and press it with a small slotted screwdriver to release it.
Pull up on the cup holder to remove it.
Pry off the panel that covers the cup holder using a slotted screwdriver.
Release the two clips that hold the cup holder in place using a slotted screwdriver.
Pull out the cup holder.
