How to Remove a Headlight Wiper Arm From a Volvo

Volvos, like a number of other upmarket European cars, feature a wiper blade on the headlight. This keeps the headlight's light quality high at night while it is raining or snowing. While the mechanical concepts are very similar to windshield wipers, there are a few subtle differences when it comes to maintenance and it would be a mistake to approach headlight wipers the same way.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Lift the wiper blade off the headlight and remove the blade from the arm. The blade snaps on and off.

  • Lift the cover at the base of the arm and expose the nut. Remove the nut with a socket wrench.

  • Separate the washing fluid tube from the arm. You can do this by gently tugging on the tube until a joint appears.

  • Pull the arm off the headlight assembly.
