How to Put Transmission Fluid in an Acura Legend

On the upper right side of the engine on the Acura Legend is a red handled dipstick. The dipstick is what is used to check the transmission fluid. The tube that the dipstick is housed in is where you will pour the transmission fluid into through a funnel. This is a basic job that must be done to keep the transmission running properly. You will need to buy transmission fluid for your specific Acura Legend.

Things You'll Need

  • Shop rag
  • Funnel
  • Transmission fluid
  • Start the Acura Legend's engine and let the engine run for five minutes. Turn the engine off and open the hood.

  • Pull the transmission dipstick from the tube and wipe the transmission fluid off of the dipstick with the shop rag. Replace the dipstick into the tube, then pull it back out. Take note of the transmission fluid level.

  • Insert the funnel into the dipstick tube and pour a small amount of transmission fluid into the funnel. Recheck the transmission fluid level.

  • Repeat the above steps until the transmission fluid level on the dipstick is at the "FULL" line.
