How to Replace the Cabin Air Filter in a Saturn L300

The Saturn L300 was the flagship vehicle in the Saturn L series lineup (L100, L200 and L300). Although it's now discontinued, plenty of them remain on the road. If you're a Saturn L300 owner, you need to keep up with vehicle's maintenance. One of the scheduled services for your L300 is replacement of the cabin air filter. GM recommends the filter be replaced once every 15,000 miles. They also recommend AC Delco (a division of GM) replacement filters for your Saturn, but you can also purchase an aftermarket filter.

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement filter (AC Delco part number CF126)
  • Turn the engine off and open the hood. Peel off the rubber weather stripping seal lining the rear part of the engine compartment (below the windshield).

  • Locate the service door (black) on the rear passenger-side of the engine bay. Open this door to access the cabin air filter (the filter will be visible).

  • Push open the two clips that mount the cabin air filter in place. Pull the filter toward the front part of the engine compartment to remove it from its tray. Lift it up and out of the Saturn.

  • Place the replacement cabin air filter in the tray. Firmly push it into the tray. Flip down the two clips to support the filter. Close the service door.

  • Replace the rubber weather stripping seal. Line up the notch along the bottom of the seal with the notch on the engine compartment. Push the seal down firmly to reattach it.
