How to Replace a Headlight Bulb on a Dodge Stratus

When the headlight bulb in your Dodge Stratus goes out, don't pay a mechanic to replace it. It's an easy fix that you can do yourself.

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement bulb
  • Owners manual
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Open the hood. Secure the hood with the hood latch.

  • Take off the headlight mounting screws. There are two of them. Refer to your owner's manual if you cannot find them.

  • Pry off the push-in fasteners with a flat-head screwdriver.

  • Pull the headlight assembly away from the front fender and take it out of vehicle.

  • Twist the retaining ring counterclockwise to remove the socket and bulb assembly.

  • Remove the bulb from the socket.

  • Insert a new bulb into the socket.

  • Place the bulb and socket back into the assembly.

  • Reinstall the assembly by reversing Steps 1 through 5.
