How to Reset the Airbag Indicator Lamp on a Nissan Quest

The airbag indicator lamp on your Nissan Quest will light up when there is a problem with the airbag assembly. You'll need to address this problem fairly quickly because a faulty airbag may not deploy properly in a crash. Generally, speaking, you should be experienced in working with airbag modules before working on them by yourself because it's easy to damage the sensors that set the airbag off. Once you've fixed the problem with your airbag, you need to know how to reset the airbag indicator light.

  • Open the fuse panel cover on the underside of the steering column. To do this, turn the knobs on the fuse panel cover counterclockwise and pull the fuse cover down to remove it.

  • Locate the plug on the fuse panel that is yellow. There is only one yellow plug that is plugged into the fuse panel. This is the airbag electrical connector.

  • Pull the airbag plug out of the fuse panel.

  • Wait for at least 5 minutes before plugging the airbag module plug back in. Your airbag should reset and the light should go out. If it does not, there is a problem with your SRS system and your airbag module needs to be replaced.
