The Jeep Patriot was introduced in 2007. It was designed and built on Chrysler's C-segment platform (shared with the Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass) according to Motor Trend Magazine. Although the Caliber and Compass received A/C filters across the board, not all models of the Patriot did. If your Patriot came equipped with an A/C filter, you can change it out in just a few minutes; no tools are required.
Remove your glove box door to access the A/C filter. Open the glove box, empty it and push the sides together to release the rubber stops from their hinges. Let the glove box door drop.
Remove the A/C filter panel. You can identify the panel by looking for the inscription "Air Flow." Push the locking tabs on the side together to remove the panel.
Remove the old filter. The filter is not mounted or bolted in; simply pull it from the compartment to remove it. It's not reusable; throw it away.
Install the new filter. Slide the filter into the compartment with the arrows (on the filter) facing down. Slide it as far back as it will go.
Replace the filter cover. Align the filter cover with the compartment edges and snap it back on.
Raise the glove box to its normal position. Lift the glove box door, squeezing together the sides to set the rubber stops in the hinges.
