When one of the front turn signal lights burns out on your Honda CR-V, drivers in front of you won't know when you're changing lanes or preparing to turn. To keep from causing an accident, make sure you replace the light as soon as possible.
Start the engine and turn the steering wheel away from side of the car holding the broken bulb. For example, if you're replacing the driver's side bulb, turn the wheel all the way to the right.
Switch the headlights off, turn off the engine and remove the keys from the ignition.
Use a flathead screwdriver to pry up the center piece of the fender fastener inside the wheel well. Then, remove the fastener and pull the fender cover back to expose the bulb sockets.
Twist the turn signal bulb socket one quarter-turn counterclockwise and remove it from the assembly. Then, press the old bulb into the socket, turn it counterclockwise and pull it out.
Replace the broken bulb with the new bulb and screw the socket back into the assembly.
Start the engine and test the new turn signal to make sure it works before replacing the fender cover and fastener.
Shut off the engine and pull the keys out of the ignition. Open the hood using the primary and auxiliary hood release latches.
Remove the engine coolant reserve tank by pulling it directly out of its holder (2007 and later models only.)
Locate the turn signal bulb socket next to the headlight bulb socket.
Twist the turn signal bulb socket one quarter-turn counterclockwise and remove it from the assembly.
Pull the old bulb directly out of the socket. Dispose of it immediately to prevent it from becoming a hazard.
Insert the new bulb directly into the socket and twist the bulb socket back into the assembly.
Test the new turn signal to make sure it works before replacing the engine coolant reserve tank and closing the hood.
