How to Fill the Windshield Washer Fluid in a Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a burly but elegant SUV that blends luxury and off-road capability into one streamlined package. Changing the windshield washer fluid on your Grand Cherokee not only keeps it shiny and clean, but it also makes driving safer.

Things You'll Need

  • Funnel
  • Windshield washer fluid
  • Park your Grand Cherokee on level ground and shut off the engine. Remove the keys from the ignition and engage the emergency brake.

  • Use the hood release latch beneath the instrument panel to crack open the hood.

  • Exit your Grand Cherokee and approach the hood. Reach under the center of the hood and pull up on the auxiliary release latch to open the engine bay.

  • Raise the hood with your hands until the hydraulic lift cylinders hold it open.

  • Find the windshield washer fluid reservoir. It's located near the front right corner of the engine compartment. Depending on when your Grand Cherokee was made, the reservoir may have a black or a yellow cap.

  • Open the reservoir cap and place a funnel into the opening. Pour the additional washer fluid into the reservoir until it's full.

  • Remove the funnel, close the reservoir cap and lower the hood.
