How to Replace the Wiper Blades on a Hyundai Sonata

If you own a Hyundai Sonata that is from the year 2000 or later and need to replace your wiper blades, then you are in luck. Because with just a wrench, some new blades and 10 minutes of your time you can get your Hyundai ready to hit the road. Here's how.

Things You'll Need

  • Wrench
  • Hyundai Sonata wiper blade replacement kit
  • Locate the nut found at the base of the wiper arm. There will be a small nut which secures the wiper arm to the bolt.

  • Remove the bolt using your wrench. (It's best to use an adjustable wrench for this procedure so that you get a good grip on the nut.)

  • Take the wiper arm off the Hyundai Sonata. Be sure that you set the nut someplace where you won't lose it.

  • Press the release tab on the wiper arm to release the old wiper blade.

  • Remove the old wiper blade and discard.

  • Slide the new wiper blade along the wiper arm track until it aligns and "clicks" into place.

  • Fasten the wiper arm back to the bolt using your wrench and nut.

  • Repeat this procedure on the other wiper arm to complete the installation of the wiper blades on your Hyundai Sonata.
