2006 Chevy Avalanche A/C Fuse Location

With hundreds of feet of wiring, the danger of a short or overload in your Chevy Avalanche is a real threat. To combat this threat, Chevy has incorporated a multitude of fuses in four separate fuse blocks. Two of these blocks have air conditioner fuses and two do not. These fuses are rated for particular amperages. If a short occurs, a spike in amperes above the rating will cause the metal element inside the fuse to melt and create an open circuit, thus removing power from the short.

Instrument Panel Fuse Block

  • Open the driver door to access the instrument panel fuse block. It is behind the upside-down trapezoidal cover on the left side of the instrument panel. The air conditioner and heater fuse is in the second row from the top, third fuse from the left. It is a green, 30-amp fuse.

Underhood Fuse Block

  • If your Avalanche is equipped with rear air conditioning, there is a fuse for it in the underhood fuse block. The underhood fuse block is located directly behind the truck’s battery. After removing the cover you will see two large, black relays next to each other near the middle of the box. The relay on the right has two fuses directly to its right. The lower one is the green, 30-amp fuse for the rear air conditioner.
