How to Reset the Trip Odometer on a 2010 Chevy Impala LT

Chevrolet equipped the 2010 Impala LT with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine bolted to a four-speed automatic transmission. As part of the command center for your Impala LT, a driver information center is situated below the speedometer on the instrument panel. The buttons for controlling the DIC are located to the right of the instrument panel cluster.

Trip Odometer

  • In the DIC, press the "Trip/Fuel" button -- the top button -- until "Trip A" or "Trip B" appears, depending on which trip odometer you want to reset. While the desired trip is displayed, press the "Set/Reset" button -- the bottom button with the check mark -- until the trip odometer is zeroed but not more that three seconds. If you hold the "Set/Reset" button for more than four seconds, you'll activate the retro-active reset feature, which resets the trip odometer to the number of miles driven since the last time the ignition was turned on and the car was moved. If you activate the retro-active reset after the car is started but before you move it, the display shows the number of miles driven during the last ignition cycle.
