Honda AC Compressor Problem

An air conditioning (AC) compressor in an automobile is a belt-driven pump that connects to the engine, compresses refrigerant into a gas and transfers it to the condenser.

Clogs

  • The compressor in Honda AC units can fail as a result of lubrication loss due to a blockage in the orifice tube, which stops refrigerant and oil from reaching the compressor. Detach the orifice tube and clear any sediment buildup to resolve the issue.

Leakage

  • Honda AC compressors can leak refrigerant or oil, resulting in reduced or no air flow in the vehicle cabin. Check the compressor shaft seals for leaks and replace them as needed. If the compressor is leaking at the switch, replace the compressor.

Noise

  • Loud noises emitting from Honda AC compressors often results from a compressor belt or bearing problem. Inspect the pulley belt that drives the compressor pump for slippage or excess slack, and adjust it as needed. Check the compressor bearing and replace it if wear is apparent.
