In the warm summer months, it's not uncommon for farmers to fill their rear tractor tires one-third of the way with a liquid calcium mixture in order to give the tires more down force to promote traction on muddy farm fields. Filling the tires with the liquid calcium mixture, or removing it from the tires, requires a special pump. You can fill the other two-thirds of the tire with air just as you would on an ordinary automotive tire. Anyone with a little mechanical inclination can accomplish this in a matter of minutes.
Turn on your air compressor and allow the air pressure tank to fill to capacity. Connect the air chuck to the end of the filler hose on the air compressor.
Remove the valve stem cap from the tractor tire's valve stem by hand. Check the air pressure in the tire with the air pressure gauge.
Fill the tire with air using the air compressor and air chuck by connecting the air chuck to the valve stem by hand. Take the air chuck off of the valve stem periodically and check the air pressure in the tire with the air pressure gauge.
Reinstall the valve stem cap once the tire has reached the desired pressure. Turn off the air compressor and drain the air compressor storage tank if you don't intend to use it again in the near future.
