How to Shut Off the Anti-Theft on a 2003 Chevy Silverado PK

Some models of the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado include an anti-theft alarm system to dissuade would-be thieves from trying to break into your truck. A loud alarm is set off whenever someone tries to enter the truck in a method that does not use a programmed key or remote fob. You can also set the anti-theft system off by pressing the panic alarm button on your keyless remote. Should the alarm system go off and you want to disarm it, use either the ignition key or the remote to disarm the anti-theft system.

Things You'll Need

  • Key fob
  • Ignition key
  • Put the Silverado key in the driver side door and turn it clockwise to unlock the door.

  • Press the "unlock" button on the door panel or remote to unlock all the other doors to the Silverado. If you press the "unlock" key twice on the remote, this will disarm the anti-theft system immediately. If you do not have the remote, continue to Step 3.

  • Insert the Silverado key into the ignition and turn the truck on. When the car engine starts up, the alarm will be disarmed.
