When your headlights go out, you need to replace them as soon as possible. Driving around with a headlight out is not only unsafe, but it's also illegal. To avoid accidents or a fix-it ticket when your headlights go out, replace them immediately. Replacing the headlights on your Chrysler Concorde is a simple and painless procedure that requires just a few tools. Some Concordes, depending on the year and specific model, have sealed headlights while others have component headlights. Sealed headlights are one large piece, consisting of the plastic cover, black backing and headlamp. Component headlights have several pieces that fit together.
Verify that the headlights are turned off then open the hood of your Chrysler Concorde.
Reach behind the headlight assembly and gently unscrew the bulb from the fixture. Unplug the blown out bulb and plug in the new bulb. The new bulb will be wrapped up: plug in the bulb then remove the wrapping from around the bulb. Do not touch the bulb with your fingers as skin oils will shorten the bulb's life.
Replace the bulb into the headlight assembly. Tighten the bulb until it holds firmly into the fixture.
Turn on the headlights and make sure the bulb is working properly.
Remove the small screws that hold the metal molding around the headlight in place then remove the molding.
Locate the metal retaining ring right below the molding. Unscrew the metal retaining ring and set it aside. This will free the headlight from the car. Unplug the old headlamp and replace it with the new one. Replace the headlamp into the fixture.
Reattach the retaining ring and screw it back in. Replace and screw in the outer molding. Make sure the headlamps are held firmly in place on the car; gently jiggle the headlamp from the front. If it moves in any way, you need to tighten the screws.
Turn on your lights to test the headlamp.
