How to Look for Auto Body Parts

When you need car body parts, there are many places where you look to obtain them. Some of them are online and some are offline. However you go about obtaining these parts, make sure you buy the correct ones as body parts fit on like a jigsaw puzzle. Buying the wrong pieces will not work at all, which will cause you even more hassle when try to return them as some places will not accept returns.

  • Call the local junkyards and ask them if they have the parts you are looking for. Junkyard parts are cheap, but they are used. However, for auto body parts, as long as they are in shape, it does not matter because you are not concerned about electronic pieces.

  • Visit local automotive dealers and parts stores. Some sell auto body parts, but not all. Some auto dealers sell extra parts for the cars they sell. The prices will be high, but the part will be new.

  • Check Craigslist. Go to your local area Craisglist page and click on "auto parts" under the "for sale" section. Search for parts at the top.

  • Read the local newspaper classified ads. Some local shops place ads saying they sell parts. Call them and ask if they what you are looking for.

  • Search eBay for parts. The parts range from used to new, but they will be conveniently shipped directly to your house.
