The 2005 Toyota Camry displays a maintenance required light on the control panel when the Camry has been driven 5000 miles since it was last reset. The maintenance light is designed to remind the driver to take the Camry in for regular maintenance. When a mechanic performs regular maintenance, such as an oil change they reset the maintenance light. If the owner does the maintenance service themselves, they will need to reset the maintenance light manually.
Insert the key into the ignition. Leave the engine turned off.
Press and hold the odometer reset knob.
Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position. Continue to hold in the odometer reset knob.
Release the odometer reset knob when the maintenance light flashes and disappears.
