The engine in a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 uses the water pump on the center of the engine to turn the cooling fan. The fan in turn blows air to the radiator, cooling it and aiding in the cooling system's process. The fan is made of plastic however, and it can break or get damaged. When it does, you're going to have to remove the fan clutch from the truck, then remove the fan from the fan clutch.
Pop the hood. Unbolt the engine shroud from the top of the engine using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Lift the shroud off of the engine to reveal the fan.
Hook the fan pulley holder tool onto the two bolt heads holding the pulley to the water pump, and make sure that it won't turn counter clockwise. Then put the fan clutch wrench on the fan clutch hex-head nut, and turn the nut counter-clockwise while holding down the pulley holder tool.
Unthread the fan clutch from the pulley by hand, then lift it out of the vehicle. Unbolt the fan from the fan clutch using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.
