How to Program a Tire Sensor on a 2010 Chrysler Sebring

The 2010 Chrysler Sebring was available with a wireless tire pressure monitoring system. The base system consisted of four wheel-mounted tire pressure sensors, a wireless receiver module and a tire pressure warning lamp, located on the instrument cluster. The premium system included additional trigger modules located in three of the wheel-wells and additional tire pressure messages that displayed in the Sebring's electronic vehicle information center.

Each wheel-mounted tire pressure sensor has its own unique sensor ID. The four sensor IDs are registered with the wireless receiver module. The system monitors each wheel sensor and compares the pressure reading to the vehicle's proper cold tire pressure specification. If a tire pressure falls below specification, the tire pressure warning lamp is illuminated.

Things You'll Need

  • TPMS scan tool (optional)

Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor Initialization

  • Inflate all four tires to the proper cold tire pressure specification. You can find this specification on the tire and loading information placard on the driver-side B-pillar.

  • Allow the vehicle to remain parked for at least 20 minutes with the ignition switch turned off.

  • Check and make sure that all four tires are still inflated to the proper cold tire pressure specification.

  • Drive the vehicle for at least 10 minutes at a speed greater than 15 mph. During this drive, the tire pressure monitoring system will register the four sensor IDs with the wireless receiver module.
