Rancho Suspensions Toyota Tacoma Quicklift - 4-Wheel & Off-Road Magazine

There are a million ways to lift or level a rig today; doing it right and economically is always a bonus. Rancho Suspension's Quicklift is a great way to give your 4x4 a boost with more adjustable ride performance than just a spacer. We had an 01' Toyota Tacoma 4x4 that needed new struts and a slight lift to level the truck while making it more capable off-road. The Quicklift systems will lift a vehicle 11/2 to 21/2 inches with complete taller strut assemblies. The strut systems can easily be installed in a couple of hours with basic tools. After an easy install we found that the new system was highway-friendly and handled bumpy off-road washboard trails with ease.

Certain vehicles can stuff 35-inch-tall tires under the fenderwells after the Quicklift is installed.
The Quicklift can be installed by someone with minor mechanical experience and a minimal number of tools. A puller can be used to remove the upper A-Arm from the ball joint, but tapping on the side of the A-Arm with a hammer in most cases achieves the same results. The factory struts on this Toyota were shot and in need of replacement. Buying new struts from the dealer would cost an arm and a leg. Replacing the worn struts with Rancho's Quicklift solved two problems: worn-out struts and a leveling lift. PhotosView Slideshow With the upper A-arm free, the old strut is trashed for scrap and the new lift strut bolted in place. This step is easy with three bolts holding the strut in place on top, and one bolt on the bottom.
Like other Rancho shocks, the Quicklift struts' on- and off-road ride performance is fully adjustable. The manual tuning knob has nine settings; 1 is the softest ride, 9 the firmest.
To match the performance of the new front struts, we installed Rancho's RS9000XL shocks in the rear. These shocks are available as factory ride height replacement shocks and for lifted vehicles.
