How to Advertise on Your Car & Get Free Gas

No matter what your financial situation is, it's easy to appreciate the value of the word "free." Gas For Free is a program that trades gas for vehicle advertising, or "Drivertising" as it's called on the company's website. If you're willing to use your vehicle as a mobile advertisement they will in turn provide you with a gas card of varying value, depending on how much of your car's surface space you are willing to cover.

Things You'll Need

  • Car (approximately 10 years old or newer)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Up-to-date auto insurance policy
  • Clean driving record

Registering

  • Go to gasforfree.com and click the "driver sign up" link from the home page.

  • Complete the registration with your name and contact information, date of birth, vehicle year, make, model and color, as well as the average miles you drive daily and monthly.

Click "yes" or "no" indicating if you have a valid insurance policy.

Enter any "additional information", described on the site as anything useful in determining your eligibility for the program, such as you commute in slow-moving traffic which would increase the exposure of any advertisement.

  • The last few steps of the registration include a demographic section as well as basic questions such as your level of interest in the program (rate from 1- 10) and when you plan on starting, if you are selected. These steps are optional but, according to the website, assist in matching you with appropriate advertisers.

  • Read through the Terms and Conditions section at the bottom of the page, click yes if you agree and would like to complete your registration, type in the Captcha code and click the "Apply Now" button to submit.

Earning

  • You registration will be reviewed upon completion and, if you meet the necessary criteria, you will be selected and added to the company's driver database. At this point, you will be eligible to participate in advertising campaigns.

  • As advertising opportunities arise you will be contacted regarding your willingness to participate. You can decline if for any reason you find the advertisement undesirable and wait for the next advertiser but if you decline two advertisements in a row you can be removed from the database.

  • If you accept the promotion, you will have to sign a contract that will include details on the length of the campaign (three months to one year,) what portion of the vehicle the advertisement will cover and the amount of free gas you will receive. Gasforfree pays drivers between $50 and $299 worth of gasoline a month for the duration of the contract.

  • You must drive at least 40 miles per day or 1250 miles per month for as long as you have the advertisement on your vehicle. According to Gas For Free's website, random checks are conducted and you may be required to submit mileage information quarterly.
