The new Mazda MX-5 may be getting all the attention at the moment, but we’ve known all along about the Miata roadster’s flexibility for years, adaptable to everything from track duty to drifting to straight up show machine. It’s an ideal kind of fun, fling-able compact RWD that’s pretty cheap to get in to, and we’re surprised more people haven’t gravitated to them. The aftermarket has taken notice, that’s for sure, and continues to cater to the platform – like brake manufacturer Wilwood Engineering, which recently added its DynaPro 4R / MC4 parking brake kit to its list of offerings for the third generation MX-5.

Wilwood’s rear DynaPro 4R / MC4 parking brake setup features 12.88-inch SRP drilled and slotted or GT Competition Series face slotted rotors that replace stock components on MX-5 models equipped with 17-inch or larger wheels. Calipers are available in either gloss black or red powder-coat finishes, and BP compound SmartPads are included for high performance response on the street or track. All the necessary hardware, DOT-compliant stainless steel braided flexlines, and a hand brake cable adapter kit are included, along with a detailed installation manual to guide the fully bolt-on installation.
