Work Horse Upgrade: Wheel, Tire, and Shock Installation

work Horse Upgrade Wheel Tire And Shock Installation weld Racing Wheels With 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Hd   |   The Weld Racing Wheels DP58-style wheel is a forged wheel that is anodized with a black finish. It is a direct-fit, 19.5-inch wheel. We used inner steel duals from Rickson Wheels, powdercoated black. These are also a 19.5-inch, direct-fit wheel. Tire size is 225/70-19.5. In the quest to make a better everyday workhorse at D&Z Customs, we chose to upgrade this ’07½ Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. This truck works hard, going to plenty of track day events where we take our 44-foot gooseneck trailer with two cars in it. Some of the biggest issues with hauling heavy loads long distances are tire wear, handling, and stopping abilities. We chose to address all three of these items with this project.   |   For a better ride, we went with single RideTech adjustable mono-tube shocks. We went to Weld Racing for a set of its new, 19.5-inch, direct-fit, forged-aluminum DP58-style dualie wheels. In addition, Rickson Wheels supplied two of its steel powdercoated inner dual wheels (also direct bolt-on 19.5-inch wheels), and RideTech supplied four of its mono-tube adjustable single shocks to help control the bumps.
