Nelson Racing Engines recently announced it is shipping production quantities of the patented symmetrical mirror-image turbos—shipped in pairs, of course. One turbo’s compressor shaft spins in a clockwise rotation, while that turbo’s mate spins its shaft in the counterclockwise direction. NRE claims this design increases performance, reliability, and ease of installation—not to mention how good twin turbos can look when they are on opposite sides of the engine compartment.
