Product Spotlight: Superchips Cortex and Flashpaq for 2010 Nissan Trucks and SUVs

Increased induction and exhaust boost power output, but to really improve your vehicle’s performance and drivability, you will need a good tune. Currently available for 2010 Nissan trucks and SUVs are Superchips’ Cortex and Flashpaq handheld tuners, both of which include multiple performance and towing tunes for street and trail use. The tuners are compatible with most basic aftermarket performance parts. The Cortex and Flashpaq increase performance and drivability by enhancing throttle response, adjusting idle settings, advancing/retarding timing, revising transmission shift points and firmness, and raising the rev and speed limiters. The optimized driveline and torque curves yield smoother power delivery for noticeable driving improvement. In addition to tuning, the Flashpaq and Cortex can be used as diagnostic scan tools and feature performance data logging, including 0-60 mph and quarter-mile time recordings. According to Superchips, the following gains were achieved with the 91-Octane Performance tune:
  • 2010 Titan (5.6-liter V-8): 27 horsepower and 21 pound-feet of torque
  • 2010 Xterra and Pathfinder (4.0-liter V-6): 15 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque
  • 2010 Frontier (4.0-liter V-6): 17 horsepower and 20 pound-feet of torque
  • 2010 Armada (5.6-liter V-8): 16 horsepower and 20 pound-feet of torque
The difference between the Cortex and the Flashpaq are limited: the case designs and the Cortex carries a limited two-year warranty.
