ATS Rear Diff Cover

If you’re a diesel guru who likes a lot of power and torque coming from your motor, you need to stop and think for a moment. Ask yourself this question: With all this power and torque I’m producing, is my stock rear differential staying cool enough to handle all this?

More than likely the answer is no. So what can you do to fix the problem? Our suggestion is to install a new aluminum rear differential cover. And that’s exactly what we did with our good friend Dustin Bowers when he asked us our opinion.

See, over the past few months, Dustin Bowers has been adding some power goodies to his ’06 Ford F-250. With all these changes and the amount of towing he does, he was getting concerned about his gears. So he picked up the phone and ordered himself a new ATS rear differential cover.

These covers are made from aluminum. Why does that matter? It matters a lot, as the aluminum will help dissipate the heat from the gear lube, allowing the fluid to stay cooler. When the fluid is cooler, it won’t break down and cause failure in the long run. In addition, these covers are larger than stock, so they hold more fluid.
