Windshield glue consists of urethane caulking and a primer which allows the glass to bond to the urethane and the frame of the vehicle. The urethane is typically black, and is applied to the frame of the vehicle. The primer is clear and is applied to the glass. Because the glue is applied liberally to make sure that all bonding surfaces are covered, it is not uncommon to get windshield glue on the glass in places that you don't need or want it. While you should make every attempt to remove the excess glue while it's still wet, this is not always possible.
Apply adhesive remover to the glue on the windshield. The adhesive remover will loosen the adhesive so that you can remove it.
Wedge the razor blade underneath the glue. Work the razor to scrape the glue off the windshield. Because you are working on glass, the glue should come up.
Wipe the area clean with a towel once the glue has been removed.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 until all of the glue is lifted off the windshield.
