Auto Insurance Claims: my insurances responsibility, my insurances responsibility

Question
On 09/18/09 my daughter and 2 friends headed home, another driver hit them head on. My daughter & 1 friend killed other friend hurt bad & other driver killed. Both in ford f150 which blew-up caught fire. Other driver at fault with limited Insurance 25/50 my daughters coverage 100/300. I dont understand why we cant collect from her full coverage of 100/300 bodily injury, may the UM only of 25/50 split 3 ways. I DONT UNDERSTAND. If she was at fault we couldnt use it and he was at fault and we still cant use it. Whats the use of full coverage bodily injury? Its in Mississippi. Should our policy be responsible for more than $5000 death/funeral. Both drivers had Farm Bureau Policies. They sent us a letter outlining "ALL" her coverage on her policies but that little recovery for a LIFE. HELP me Understand.

Answer
Hello Lenora,

I believe I already answered this question. There are few more details here.

The bodily injury full coverage is a third party coverage. In other words, it covers a third party making a claim against you. It does not protect "you" making a claim against yourself.

"You" typically means the driver of the vehicle.

I hope this clear up some of the confusion.

Thank you
