Auto Insurance Claims: reimbursement for travel to Doctor, mileage log, mileage

Question
When I send in the doctors bills to the insurance company, how much will the carrier pay, if any, for mileage to and from the doctor?

Answer
Hi Kathy,

The carrier is not going to just pay an amount for mileage. You have to demand that they pay you for mileage. It is usually at a rate of .55 cents per mile and you will need a mileage log to prove the mileage.

I hope this helps
