Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Estimate, Auto Estimate

My car was hit while it was parked.  Luckily the guy waited for me to come out and gave me his insurance information.  I got an estimate at a shop I have used before and sent it into the insurance company.  I received the check and called the auto shop for an appointment.  I tried with no luck for two weeks.  The guy who schedules was never in and never returned my calls, so I went to another shop for an estimate.  It came out $380.00 cheaper than the first shop.  Am I permitted to get the work done there?  The check is in my name only.

The insurance company has paid for your damages. They are done. If you decide to fix the car for cheaper that is your call. You could even choose not to fix it and they could not say anything.
