Auto Insurance Claims: auto accident, location of driver

Question
How do I file a claim against someone that I rear ended me.  I have her name and insurance name but no contact information. How would I get in touch with her insurance agency?

Answer
I assume you meant someone who rear ended you? If so, I guess start by calling the insurance company. In most states, they don't have to tell you anything unless their insured, the one who hit you, turned in the claim. If they won't tell you, call the police and see if they can locate the driver. Did you get the vehicle description or license plate? The police can match the drivers name to state DMV records and make the insurance company give them the drivers address.

If the driver failed to turn in the claim to the insurer, then you have to sue the driver and the vehicle owner.
