Auto Insurance Claims: Im uninsured, can I drive my Mothers Insured car, mother state, san francisco bay area

Question
Hello,
Again, I have no insurance, but my mother does on herself
and her car. If I drive my mothers car and get into an
accident, will her insurance company 'State Farm' cover the
costs? if or not my fault?

Answer
Hi Shawn,
If you reside with your mother, State Farm (and most other companies)
require that you be listed on her policy as a named driver in order for ANY coverage to apply.

If you do NOT reside with your mother and only occasionally drive
her car with her permission, you are covered to drive her vehicle
unless you have been specifically been EXCLUDED from her policy
by name.

I hope that you find this information helpful.  Your feedback by
rating my response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Bennie
