Auto Insurance Claims: rental loss of use, rental car companies, island hi

Question
My credit card company will not pay for "loss of use" in a rental car claim unless they receive the utilization log from the rental company which they refuse to supply.  Am I liable even though the rental will not document the claim?
Claim is in Rhode Island

Answer
Hi John,

Insurance companies will generally deny loss of use claims by rental car companies unless the log is provided. Your insurance company is required to defend you in all claims. You should be talking to your insurance company about what you should do. If you get sued for the loss of use you should contact your insurance company immediately. They will handle it from there.

I hope this helps
