Auto Insurance Claims: truck wrecked, rust belt, information values

Question
i just got plowed at an intersection, what type of value do the insurance go by to determine what my truck is worth?also who's responsibility is it to get it back to my city?

Answer
Hi Ray,

Insurance companies use fair market value derrived from Kelly's blue book or other like kind information. Values are based on condition, mileage, region. A vehicle from the rust belt is worth less than a vehicle out west.

As for responsibility to get it back to your city, contact your claims rep and they can tell you what your exact situation is.

I hope you were not injured.

Good luck,

Rob
