Auto Insurance Claims: Accident, rental coverage, semi truck

Question
I was involved in auto accident about 10 days ago. My claims rep has not contacted me first. I don't have rental coverage and needed a car since my car won't be ready for another 4 days. I paid $420 for the rental. I was at a complete stop when a semi-truck tandem hit the driver side of my car. Determination of fault hasn't been determined as of yet. I called my agent to see if the guy had insurance since he didn't want to provide that info, only his name and company name. She stated that he did and was trying to contact them to set-up a claim. I really don't understand. Do you think my rental will be paid under his insurance if he is at fault? I have no rental coverage under my policy.

Answer
Hi Shannon,

If it is determined that the other driver was at fault and his company accepts liability, then they owe you for the rental car. you will simply send them the paid bill asking for reimbursement of the amount. If they try to argue the amount, just argue back. In the end you will prevail.

I hope this helps
