Auto Insurance Claims: under insured letter, underinsured motorist, insurance company

My sister was in a car accident and she needs to send a letter to her insurance
company alerting them that she may be going after them for uninsured/under
insured. What information should be contained in the letter?

Your sister can simply call the claims department of her insurance company. She should tell them that she will be making an underinsured motorist claim.

These type of claims can be very tricky. You sister may want to consult with an attorney before she goes any further.
