Auto Insurance Claims: accident, own insurance, daughter lives

Question
I live in GA. my daughter lives in Cleveland Ohio I was in Cleveland for the new years holiday I let her use my car and a truck hit her police report states the truck was at fault but she is not on my insurance policy I have full coverage but I don't have uninsured motorist is my daughter and car still covered.

Answer
Hi Tim,

If you are making the claim on your own insurance policy then no problem. You can loan your car to anyone that does not live in your household without them being listed on your policy and you are covered.

However, if the other person was at fault, you should be filing the claim through the at-fault persons policy, unless that person did not have insurance.

If you have further questions about your claim, please visit www.collisionclaims.com . They are also based in Georgia.

I hope this helps
