Auto Insurance Claims: DUI accident, full coverage insurance, policy contract

I was in an accident where I was at fault, crashing into a median and hitting some trees, my car was damaged and I was arrested for DUI. I have full coverage insurance, will my insurance company fix my car?

Hi Jen,

Depending on the state you live in and your insurance company, some policies do exclude coverage if you are found guilty of DUI. This determination can only be made by calling your insurance company and going throught the claim process. Or you can read your policy contract to see if it contains this exclusion. In most cases it will be covered and they will pay the claim. But you should be prepared for all possibilities.
