Auto Insurance Claims: personal injury, honda odyssy, traumatic stress syndrome

My daughter and I were both hit while walking across the street by a honda odyssy. The driver was insured and we sustained soft tissue injurys. Our chiropractic treatment was approximately 2 months, and my daughter is now seeing a therapist for post traumatic stress syndrome. My case at  negotiations and the insurance has just offered me $7000. My medical bills are $5341.00 and wages lost were $666. That is just for my case. Do you think this is a fair offer or would I benefit from taking it further to court?

Hi Mary,

It is difficult to say without knowing all of the facts. However, it appears they are only offering about $1,000.00 for your paiun & suffering on top of the medical bills. You should be seeking at least about $10,000.00 in total.  You can continue to try to negotiate this your self or you can try to hire an attorney.
