Auto Insurance Claims: Auto accident, mileage deduction, insurance adjuster

Question
My vehicle was legally parked in front of my house and was struck by another vehicle. The striking motorist's insurance adjuster's estimate was more than his valuation of my vehicle and wants to total it.The repair work from his estimate is $300 more than the so called value. He used NADA & another service(autosource/audatex) for the valuation.I have no problem with NADA but autosource seems overwhelmingly in favor of the insurance company,$400 difference in base value & double the mileage deduction, $600 NADA/$1170 Autosource. He said autosource is based on a local market survey listings.I asked to see these listings and he told me they were not available,go figure! There is no way I can become "whole" again without costing me money! I live in Pennsylvania and I have filed a complaint with the insurance commission.Any other options? Thanx!

Answer
Hi Jeffrey,

Yoy need to DEMAND that they provide you with the entire Autosource report. If that is what they are using to value your car, you are entitle to see a copy of it. Then you can check for errors. If they refuse you need to ask to speak to a supervisor. If that does not help continue seeking assistance from your insurance department.

I hope this helps
