Auto Insurance Claims: Car Accident, accident insurance company, few more years

Question
Insurance company wants to settle for accident almost 2 years ago in Illinois. Had injuries and bills total about 8,000 . They want to settle 3,500 and wondering if I have a time frame to settle with them or  can leave case open. I also plan no suit against other party involve that was at fault. I know that has a 2 year time frame with other party  but I would like to leave case open with insurance company for a few more years or until we can reach a settlement that is reasonable.

Answer
Hi Rick,

The 2 year statute of limitations is the time limit for doing anything. Once that time passes and you can no longer file a law suit the insurance company does not have to give you anything. You need to start dealing with this now before its too late. If you had $8,000.00 in medical bills your claim should be worth $25,000.00 to $40,000.00. You may want to talk to an attorney as soon as possible. Once the statute of limitations passes there will be nothing you or anybody else can do. The insurance company will try to trick you into just letting time go by and then when the statute passes they will simply say so sad, too bad, you lose and they will pay you nothing at all.

You need to find an attorney and get this claim settled now.

I hope this helps
